Aromatherapy and ArthritisIn today’s changing world people have got very busy.

Generally Arthritis is synonym for swelling and paining of joints. There are two major types of arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is not curable because reasons for its occurrence have not been established yet.
It may be hereditary or due to bone density loss or infection caused by the toxins released in the body. There are many therapies, medicines and traditional treatment available to lessen the pain. One such therapy is aromatherapy.
It is derived from two words “aroma” which means scent and “therapy” which means treatment, so aroma therapy is, healing people using aroma of natural plants and herbs. Discovered in 1930 by a French scientist in 1930, aromatherapy makes use of natural oils extracted from natural herbs and plants. The aroma of this extract affects directly to the mental and physical health of the patient.
Under aromatherapy there are lots treatments available for arthritis. Diluted essential oils are applied to the pain area to alleviate the pain. The essential oils applied on the skin are absorbed and enter the bloodstream.
This is an excellent form of arthritis relief. There many other ways to use these essential oils. They can be used in the bath water, wore as a perfume, directly inhaled or they could be mixed with the base oil and used for massage. Some of the essential oil used for arthritis are Benzoin, chamomile, Cyprus, Eucalyptus Pine Scotch, Camphor, Angelica Root, Ginger, Origanum, Black Pepper, Lemon .etc. Other treatments for arthritis may not be cost effective or may have some negative side effects but aromatherapy is completely safe and natural. It does not have any side effects.
