Information on Mint Family : Which chemical structure does mint family fall under?

Hi, The two well known essential oils from the Mint family are Mentha piperita and Mentha spicata (spearmint) They belong to the Lamiaceae family of plants. Both the oils are rich in menthol. Spearmint oil contains upto 60 to 70 % of the ketone Laevocarvone, whereas Mentha piperita contains menthol and menthone along with a lot of other components. I hope this helps you.
