Aromatherapy Fatigue Treatment

Aromatherapy is the use of the aroma or fragrance of various aromatic plant sources to cure a variety of ailments. Aromatherapy is used to treat various problems including poor memory and concentration and even fatigue.

Aromatherapy for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

When you feel constantly drained out or fatigued, there are good chances that you may have developed chronic fatigue syndrome. This condition is not very well understood, and chronic fatigue is to a large extent still unexplained.

Usually, this continuous fatigue is accompanied with a low-grade fever, swelling in the lymph nodes, joint and muscle pain, headaches, and other flu-like symptoms. This could also affect your concentration.

Although the cause still remains a mystery, it has been thought that a virus could be associated with this disorder. This infection could occur when the immune system is damaged or recovering. Continuous stress, both physical and psychological, can also cause this disorder.

Aromatherapy Oil for Fatigue Treatment

No cure has yet been found for this ailment. However, massages, herbal supplements, and exercises to reduce stress have helped to reduce some of the symptoms. A healthy diet can certainly help to increase energy and help you feel more energized during the day. However, aromatherapy is an alternative therapy that not only helps alleviate the symptoms but also gives you relief from fatigue both physically and mentally.

A blend of the essential oils of bergamot, Melissa, and geranium can be very soothing. This mixture of the oils is used with a diffusion device. You can also massage this fragrant mixture onto your pulse points. Take a whiff whenever you start feeling drained out. You may even simply dab this oil mixture onto your handkerchief and sniff it several times during the day to prevent feelings of fatigue.

Another excellent alternative is to massage the essential oil of rosemary onto your scalp. It is best to warm up the oil a little so that the oil can be absorbed well by the scalp. To maximize the effect of the oil, soak a towel into hot water, wring it well, and then wrap it around your head so that the oil diffuses completely into the scalp.

A foot massage using Mandarin essential oil can be used when you feel fatigued. If you feel that your energy is drained out, use the essential oil to massage your back. Alternatively, take some lemongrass oil, add it to a bowl of steaming water and bring your face close to the bowl. Inhale the diffused oil vapors arising from this water.
