Genital warts are a symptom of a sexually transmitted disease that spreads due to the papilloma virus. In males, these warts appear on the penis, scrotum, and the anal area, and in females these warts can be seen on the vulva, rectum, and the cervix. When oral sex is performed with an infected person, these warts can also appear on the face, especially around the mouth.

Often commonly known as cold sores or fever blisters, these warts may vary in color and appearance. The sizes of the warts may vary from person to person. They appear tumor like and when aggravated, may become painful and ulcerated. Once ulcerated, the warts can be extremely painful and uncomfortable. They may also bleed or discharge a foul smelling substance.

These warts, though normally benign, may produce several health issues, some of which depend on their location. In case of genital warts, the infected person may experience pain during urination or passing stool. If the infected person is a pregnant woman, the infection could also affect the fetus.

HPV (or human papilloma virus), the virus that is responsible for the spread of the disorder, may be present in the blood stream without really causing any symptoms. It is this reason why almost 55% of the infected people never realize that they are infected, because of which the infection spreads to other people. Teens and young adults, who have multiple sexual partners, are most prone to developing these warts. Unfortunately, this disease cannot be cured and the infected person has to live with it. The symptoms and pain can be managed but since the HPV remains in the bloodstream, a recurrence might occur anytime.

However, the oil is quite strong and concentrated and should be used only after dilution. Other oils that can be directly applied on the warts are castor oil, an oil extracted from a plant known as Ricinus Communis. Some of the most powerful herbal medicines are created from this plant.
