Aromatherapy Candles

What are Aromatherapy Candles?

Aromatherapy candles contain therapeutic oils from various types of plants.

When a few drops of a particular plant essence are added to a candle, the powerful aroma molecules are diffused into the surrounding air as the wax melts. Aromatherapy candles exude the fragrance of essential oils extracted from different parts of plants, including flowers, berries, leaves and bark. Inhaling this fragrance helps soothe and revitalize instantly.

It has been observed that the sense of smell directly affects our emotions. This is so because a part of the nervous system that helps to control emotions are connected to the nose. Hence there is proof that using aromatherapy candles have an effect on our mindset and our emotions.

The key therefore lies in choosing the correct scent to match the emotion or sense you wish to evoke.
When it comes to aromatherapy there are many ways to get the most out of the aroma, and one of the most popular known method is dispersing it into the air with candles. Essential oils extracted from certain aromatic plants are thus widely used by aroma therapists to promote emotional and physical well being. An aromatherapy scented candle can be used to diffuse a soothing, uplifting or rejuvenating aroma, depending on which type of pure essential oil is used.
